*** A TRIBUTE TO KIM BLANKINSHIP ***
This memorial website was created in the memory of Kim Blankinship, born in Torrance, California on October 14, 1975 and passed away on October 16, 2006.
Kim Blankinship, better known as "The Life of the Party" among friends, was found unconscious at her home in Long Beach on Monday morning, October 16, 2006, just following her 31st birthday. She had apparently suffered heart failure in the middle of the night. She was rushed to St. Mary's Hospital in Long Beach where she later died with her family by her side, on Monday night. Her sudden death has left her friends and family in a state of incomprehensible shock. She is also survived by her parents, Mike and Yoko and her sister, Kristi Copeland, all of whom are southern California natives. It seems too tragic for belief. Kim had a passion for life and sports. She competed in soccer, volleyball and track, and her achievements made her an icon of each sport, becoming a three-sport standout at Torrance High, and later an All-American at Loyola Marymount. In 2000, she joined a sports media and marketing firm, Student Sports, where she served as the General Manager of the Marketing Division. May she be remembered for her high energy personality, her love for everyone around her and her unwavering loyalty to those she cared about. We will miss her smile, and the spark she carried. In Memory of Kim Blankinship, we will be raising money for a scholarship fund in her name being established by her family. We welcome everybody to leave their thoughts of Kim at this tribute, under 'guestbook' * MEMORIAL Kim has been cremated. Services were at 10:30am on Tuesday, October 24th at Rolling Hills Covenant Church in Rolling Hills Estates.
